	Spain is mountainous the country has a long coastline which borders the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Madrid is the capital city. Other important cities are Barcelona, Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada and Valencia.

Spanish territory also includes the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands off the African coast. It shares land borders with Portugal, France, Andorra.

The most prominent of the languages of Spain is Spanish, Other languages figure prominently in many regions: Basque in parts of the Basque Country and Catalan in Catalonia. Most Spaniards are Roman Catholics.
